Taller de Música Contemporánea was founded in 2000 and it has a great instrumental
and vocal versatility.
The Ensemble is made up of players and composers. Since it was created, this group
has taken part in several occasions in the Contemporary Music Festival of the Catholic University, University of Chile, Vicente
Pérez Rosales University and “Música Ahora” Festival in La Serena.
They have also played in many festivals and concerts in different cities of Chile,
such Valdivia and Temuco.
In the year 2004 they recorded a compact disc entitled “Chamber Works”,
in which they included works specially composed for the group.
This CD contains works of Rafael Díaz, Cirilo Vila, Francisco Silva, Daniel Osorio,
Antonio Carvallo, Alejandro Guarello and Pablo Aranda.
On the same year, “Nueve Composiciones de Cámara” , a compact disc
with Pablo Arandas´s works was recorded. In the year 2005 they recorded another compact disc entitled “Iaux-Aux/Kaitek”
that included electro-acoustic works of Daniel Osorio and Antonio Carvallo.
Taller de Música Contemporánea has being received the
support of DIRAC (Dirección de Cultura del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores del gobierno de Chile) in order to give concerts
on Ravensburg, Münich, Oldenburg, Köln in Germany in February 2008.
